Here’s a list of game design eBooks:
- Sirlin’s Playing to Win: Becoming the Champion is a book that is available on his blog. It was written more towards game players but any game designer can learn the game concepts which he describe in the book. You can also buy a printed version or the eBook of Playing To Win in here.
- Jesse Schell’s The Art of Game Design: A book of lenses has a Kindle eBook edition. The book has a ton of great information about designing games. It also has some examples of decisions he made as game designer which can be very helpful for beginners and even for advanced designers.
- Raph Koster’s Theory of Fun for Game Design is a highly recommended book in the game industry. The book is about why we play games and much of the content is about Raph’s journey as a game designer.
