Game Design Courses
If you want to become a game designer, taking some courses in areas directly related or applicable to game design is important. There are many courses which are useful for game designers to take courses in. You don’t have to take courses in areas specific to the game designing itself. You can choose to take courses in areas which you are interested in. It’s just a matter of learning to apply it to game design. The subject of the course should be one that you can find a way to apply it to game design.
When choosing where to take the course, there are many things that you can take into account to better help you with your decision. Some of them are: cost, duration, if it gives a certificate, reputation and location.

- The courses on Game Institute are courses offered online.
- Game Design Concepts has a course with 20 “levels” which are much like 20 giant articles. You can take a look at the first one here.
- Vancouver Film School offers a one year Game Design program. They also offer other programs which are applicable to game development.
